Orrefors Jazz Me Barware
Description:
Orrefors Jazz MeFine CrystalMade in SwedenDesigned by Ingegerd RamanJazz me has an unmistakable fifties feel that draws on Swedish design traditions, with a rare symmetry between bowl and stem. The tall decanter is graceful and functional, and as well suited to water as to wine. Let wine breathe and trickle down the long, slim neck of the decanter to mellow and enhance its aroma. Founded in 1898 on the site of a former iron factory, Orrefors began by producing glass for dishes and technical and medical usage. In 1914, under the guidance of a new owner, Orrefors shifted its focus to making and designing crystal for intricate objets d'art. Handblown glass has thus been produced in this part of Sweden for more than two and a half centuries. From then on, Orrefors began manufacturing new collections using a younger generation of in-house designers. Orrefors joined forces with competing glass manufacturer Kosta Boda in 1990 and has since signed on a string of impressive artists for present and future designs.
