The partnership between the two respected British institutions and the young designer has been a resounding success although Conran confesses he was somewhat surprised when the Waterford Crystal company and Wedgwood approached him with the idea of a Jasper Conran line. Conran has clear view of his talent — line, proportion, color and shape. But he also has something extra that has taken him from the "son-of" category to an international brand name. "My specialty is taking a large company that wants to achieve something different but doesn’t know how to do it and showing them how," says Conran.
