GlassThe appeal of illumination. The Lantern candleholder by young Finnish designer Harri Koskinen is a light sculpture designed with clear and clean lines. The reflection of the candle inside the mouth-blown glass creates a warm atmosphere – it seems as though the light is hovering inside. The designer himself describes the Lantern candleholder as “light placed upon a pedestal.” It comes with a match holder to facilitate the lighting and snuffing of the candle. Harri Koskinen. Born in Karstula, Finland, in 1970. His furniture and versatile design objects have aroused great international interest. Harri Koskinen strives to find solutions that are innovative for both the consumer and producer. He works with companies like Artek, Danese, Finlandia Vodka Worldwide, Issey Miyake, Montina, Muji, Genelec, O luce, Panasonic, Seiko Instruments, Venini and Woodnotes. Along the years, he has won several awards. The most significant of them was Compasso d’Oro Award in 2004.
